The management of Atlas Hotels hosted an opening party in honor of the inauguration of the newly renovated Center Hotel.
Israeli Minister of Tourism Isaac Herzog, and Tel Aviv Mayor, Ron Huldai, were participated in the opening ceremony.

As in each year, Atlas Hotels are taking a major part in hosting the teams who will participate in the 2006 Zafon Tennis Games.
The hotels provide special services to the guests of the games, including specialized menu, internet access, and a designated area in the lobby for publication of results, reports and game schedules.

The hotel was designed in the ‘White City’ style. According to the management of Atlas Hotels, by the end of 2006 all rooms will be renovated with parquet floor, new furniture and fittings, and completely refurbished public areas and restaurants.
The tournament sponsored in Israel by Russian Channel 1, received lots of attention from fans of the four teams from Russia and the Ukraine.
Tens of journalists were sent to Israel from Russia and Europe in order to transmit results and commentary of the games, all of whom were hosted at the Tal Hotel who arranged comfortable rooms, specialized menus and press rooms specially equipped with high speed internet connection and equipment to enable them to transmit up-to-the-minute data to television channels throughout Russia and the Ukraine.
The City, Cinema and Center Hotels were proud to host a great proportion of the fans who came to take part in the "Abramovich Cup" football tournament.
For the past 28 years, the 4 football teams have not played against each other due to unresolved disputes between them. This year, as the winter was unseasonably cold across the CIS, the tournament was transferred to Israel. Roman Abramovich, the Russian Jewish oil and business entrepreneur, donated $1 Million to the winning team.
Due to the grand event which was organized, the Russian speaking community in Israel and the thousands of fans of the participating teams enjoyed great football and the wonderful sunshine of Israeli wintertime.

On 18th December 2005, Atlas Hotels will temporarily shut the Melody Hotel for renovations. Situated opposite the Hilton Hotel and overlooking the Mediterranean, the Melody will have additional 3 floors added and the existing 34 rooms will be refurbished and upgraded. At the end of the day, the newly designed boutique hotel will have 53 rooms and 2 suites. Atlas hotels hope to re-open the hotel in April 2006. During this period reservations can be made at other Atlas Tel Aviv hotels – Basel Hotel, Tal Hotel, City Hotel, Cinema Hotel and Center Hotel.

The Israeli ministry of tourism is expecting an increase of 25 percent to 1.9 million tourists for this year, after some 1.5 million arrivals in 2004. Early this month, Europe’s leading tourism group TUI, announced that is returning to Israel after a number of years of absence. Hapagfly, a TUI Group airline, will fly from Munich to Tel Aviv once a week. About 30,000 guests are expected to travel to Israel with the World of TUI in the 2005/2006 season.

The Tal Hotel in Tel Aviv prepared for the participants' practice classes for grand piano in the hotel lobby and gave special rooms for accommodation. During the entire stay of the participants of this internationally acclaimed competition, the guests and staff of the hotels enjoyed beautiful classical music from virtuoso performances of participants of the competition.
