The choice of art at the Backstage Hotel was made after thinking about the history of the building and the fact that it was formerly an active theater. The choice of two artists – Liron Cohen and Ruti De Vries – for the public spaces and the bedrooms was made because of the connection between their work and the artistic style that was common when the Ohel Theater was active. The hotel lobby features a large work by Ruti De Vries – a picturesque installation that seems to be part of a theater backdrop that has been left behind. Above it are sculptures of suits by the same artist, and it seems like they were taken from a recent show. The rooms feature pictures by Ruti De Vries and Liron Cohen alongside one another. The pictures of the two artists complement one another, and in most of them one can find strange and varied characters that echo the theatrical spirit that prevails in the hotel.
